The Chainsmokers are back with a brand new track called ‘Sick Boy’, which showcases an edgier side to the duo.

In the official press release, ‘Sick Boy’ is described as “a song about self-identity in today’s world and standing tall in the face of what you can and can’t control”. The track sees Drew and Alex steer away slightly from the EDM sound we know and love them for, but we’re pretty hooked on it already.

As Alex plays the piano, Drew takes the lead on the song, opening with “I’m from the east side of America, where we choose pride over character, and we can pick sides but this is us.” The track then takes a darker, melancholic turn with Drew questioning “How many likes is my life worth?”

The Chainsmokers also released the official music video for ‘Sick Boy’, where they are joined by drummer Matt McGuire. The visual effects add to the song’s message, making it captivating to watch. It’s clear to see that a new era of The Chainsmokers is on the horizon, and we couldn’t be more excited.
