UK producers SUPER-Hi unveil their brand-new single/music video, “Told You So,” a song about sharing happy-go-lucky moments with friends and loved ones.
The duo shares that they were seeking “to write awesome things about things that are awesome (to steal a Chris Martin sentiment). ‘Following The Sun’ was all about a journey and ‘Told You So’ is all about the destination. It’s about excess, carefree living, the party, and the moment with friends and loved ones that we haven’t been able to be with in a very long time. We hope people love it as much as we do.”
They go on to add, “We started this journey with a few simple goals. We wanted to write and produce music that was close to our heart conceptually and sonically, not to a ‘brief’, to use our co-writer friends as the featured artists to give us freedom from the bureaucracy of labels, and most ironically… put a song out a month to see if anything connected whilst touring was off the table due to COVID. It just so happened that our first record ‘Following the Sun’ was the perfect storm of an incredible new team in BLENDED, and a reaction across the globe that we could have never predicted in our wildest dreams.”
“Told You So” follows on the heels of SUPER-Hi’s success last year, during which they amassed more than 150 million streams, over 250,000 radio plays, and more than 1.9 million shazams for Following The Sun, which went Gold in New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and Austria.
SUPER-Hi, aka producers Red Triangle, is made up of George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse. The pair has written and produced hits with Yungblood, KSI, David Guetta, Charlie Puth, James Arthur, 5 Seconds of Summer, Alesso, and Green Day.
“Told You So” opens on delicious vocals riding a straightforward rhythm topped by hints of dance and pop flavors. A fat bassline drives the tune, imbuing it with a contagious flow as optimistic vocals infuse the lyrics with lighthearted tones.
