Late last month, reports that Liam Payne and Maya Henry were engaged appeared and now, the former One Direction member is addressing the news. As you might be aware, Maya was spotted out and about with Liam one evening and fans could not help but notice the massive diamond on THAT finger in the paparazzi pictures.
Later on, a rep for Liam confirmed that he was indeed engaged and happy but he himself did not talk about it at the time.
While on Good Morning America, Liam Payne now opened up about his engagement for the first time sharing the news directly with his fans.
In response to well wishes during the interview, Liam stated: ‘We’re just really happy. The last week, I have just had a birthday, my son went to school for the first time today, so it seems like many firsts [are happening] for me really actually, which is great.’
Before this, Liam, although he was never engaged, he famously dated Cheryl Cole and they also share a son together named Bear, born in 2017.

And, of course, the co-hosts could not help but ask about his former bandmates as well, especially since this comes after their 10 year anniversary as a band.
‘It feels amazing to be doing 10 years of anything, especially to have the success levels that we have had. I am just really grateful that the fans have stuck around and we still, each one of us, have a career, which I believe has been the most amazing part of all of it. As far as reunions go, I do not know too much, but I got wonderful and lovely birthday messages from everyone, which was really, really nice,’ Liam went on to say when asked about a possible reunion.
