There were many winners and losers at this year's Grammy Awards but for once the Aussies were on the right list.
Australian artist Gotye's amazing haul of awards is nothing short of amazing especially considering the gongs have been few and far between for our homegrown artists over the years. Here's a snapshot:
AC/DC
How long it took to win a Grammy: formed in Sydney in 1973, AC/DC were nominated for a Grammy five times between 1989 and 2009, they finally Best Hard Rock Performance for War Machine in 2010.
Success post-Grammy: the Black Ice tour played to over five million people.

THE BEE GEES

MEN AT WORK
How long it took to win a Grammy: Not long. The Melbourne band won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1983, the only Australian band who've ever taken out that award.
