Adam Wade was the stage name of Patrick Henry Wade, an American singer, musician, and actor. Wade made history as the first Black game show host when he served as Musical Chairs’ host for a time on CBS.
Wade was raised by his grandparents after being born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Pauline Simpson and Henry Oliver Wade, Jr. Wade, who grew raised in the East Liberty neighbourhood, and graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1952.
